COMPETITIVE TEAM

REGISTRATION FOR THE 2024-25 SHORT COURSE SEASON OPENS AUGUST 5th!

We encourage new swimmers to sign up anytime during the year.

HOW TO JOIN COOL:

  • Step 1: Familiarize yourself with our practice schedulepractice locations, and fees.
  • Step 2: Schedule an evaluation so we can determine the best group for your swimmer. Email us and we'll schedule a time for you to join us at the pool.
  • Step 3: Complete our online registration (click the blue button below) and pay your initial fees.
  • NOTE: YOU NEED TO COMPLETE YOUR SWIM EVALUATION PRIOR TO REGISTERING.
  • Step 4: Jump into the water with us for our ONE-WEEK FREE trial! This week will help you see if swimming with COOL is something you will enjoy! Come to practice and get to know the COOL coaches, swimmers, and training routine. Then, after one week, let us know if your future is with the COOL SWIM TEAM!

COOL is a competitive swim team, and although we will seek to help you refine your strokes, some basics are needed before you can join our competitive program. Take a look at the requirements of our training groups to see if you think you are ready. After your evaluation, the coaches will let you know what group you should register for. If you have any questions, contact us, give it a try, and we'll let you know.

  • Not quite ready for our competitive team? Check out our pre-competitive program. In this program, we will work with you to gain the skills needed to join our competitive program.

NOTE: In order to take advantage of the free week, you must be evaluated, complete our online registration, and pay your initial fees upfront (this is needed for insurance purposes). If, after one week (defined as one calendar week), you are not ready to be COOL, all you need to do is email our treasurer and let us know you are not going to stay. Need to sign up for an evaluation to see what group is best for your swimmer? Sign up here.

YOU MUST BE EVALUATED (SIGN UP FOR AN EVAL HERE), COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS, AND SUBMIT PAYMENT PRIOR TO YOUR TRIAL WEEK!

Please get in touch with our Registrar if you have any questions.

COMPETITIVE PRACTICE GROUPS

Want to learn more about our competitive practice groups?

  • At COOL, we group our swimmers by ability for practice sessions.
  • Check out our Practice Group Enrollment Standards linked below as a reference point while you seek to know where your swimmer might fit.
  • Please note this is for your reference, a coach will make the official determination at your swimmers evaluation.

My swimmer is already on COOL and would like to move up.

  • When current swimmers are looking to advance to a higher practice level, the coaching staff will ask the swimmers to complete a test set as a means of determining what level each swimmer should be in.
  • Test sets are based on the required ability levels outlined in the Practice Group Enrollment Standards linked below.
  • All swimmers are placed in groups based on their ability, as demonstrated in the test set.
  • In addition, consideration will be given to the swimmer’s maturity level as well as his/her ability to be successful in a particular group.
  • Testing periods are spread throughout the year to allow swimmers time to advance and improve through the year.
  • Once a swimmer enters the program, testing will only be done at predetermined intervals throughout the swim season.
