Become a USA Swim Official
There are two different types of officials needed within USA Swimming.
- Stroke and turn judge (S&T) - Stroke and turn judges are those officials in the white shirts on the pool deck observing swimmers for correct technique in the pool.
- Administrative official (AO) - An administrative official is a position which helps to oversee the "dry" side of a meet including the scoring table and the clerk of course.

COMPENSATION:
- Provided Officials fulfill the required sessions noted above, the following will be compensated to the Officials
- USA Swimming certification fees will be reimbursed after completing the six (6) shadow sessions.
- Annual MVS Registration Fee
- Bi-Annual Criminal Background Check
- Online Stroke & Turn clinic, if COOL gives pre-approval
- Annual COOL Administration Fee
- This will be reimbursed once your six (6) shadow sessions are completed and you are on deck at your first regular session as an official
- Your swimmer(s) will not incur any meet fees at COOL-hosted meets, including Dual and Tri meets, in which you volunteer
c. Hotel cost reimbursement for officiating at travel meet (officials must stay at the team hotel and book through Coach Rob)
